That is because we tightly wrapped the boat in plastic\u00a0and did not\u00a0provide clear and generous gaps for air and moisture to escape from underneath the plastic. Well, Artur and I repaired the situation. It was a cold, windy day with a dazzle of rain. That kept the mind sharp as well as the eye. We noticed black spots on some of the oak. This is surely fungi, developing in places where the varnish has worn off. I never did apply six to eight coats of Le Tonkinois, as recommended. This means sanding and varnishing before next season starts.
