Stern transom support structures

Stern transom support structures are in place! The “stern mirror”, as we call it in Estonian, is looking nice. The sanded surface is aesthetic. Now we have to complete the rest of the bulkheads in order to fix the chine logs and start fitting stringers and the bow transom. The second week of May is realistic for getting the bulkheads finished.

The cut off edge looks nice.

Keep posting those photos you guys. I am following your progress closely. Looks like you’re doing an excellent job. Perhaps someday I’ll build one myself.

    Regards!

      Hi James,

Thank you very much for the encouragement and support, it is much appreciated. If you plan on building Fafnir then let’s keep in touch, there are a few places where the plans need adjustment due to typos and so on.

      Cheers!

You’re most welcome. Here’s something to inspire, or depress, you. I’m not sure which.

It’s the famous Bluenose fishing/racing schooner from Nova Scotia, Canada being rebuilt–pretty much from scratch.

Love your project. Thanks for the info. I have plans for Fafner, too. You are building the pram bow?

    • Uku says:

      Hoi!

We are going to add a cutting edge, so no pram bow. We are not limited by our building space and we decided that we do not want to lose any speed due to waves pounding into the pram on a short vessel.
