Hello!
The last time we covered our boat, alarms went off. That is because we tightly wrapped the boat in plastic and did not provide clear and generous gaps for air and moisture to escape from underneath the plastic. Well, Artur and I repaired the situation. It was a cold, windy day with a dazzle of rain. That kept the mind sharp as well as the eye. We noticed black spots on some of the oak. This is surely fungi, developing in places where the varnish has worn off. I never did apply six to eight coats of Le Tonkinois, as recommended. This means sanding and varnishing before next season starts. Nothing bad, yet!
- We really gave our best to create space underneath the plastic.
- Artur was on top this time, using ropes to fix the support structures.
- We weighed the plastic down with 5 L water canisters filled to 2/3 of their capacity. Ice expands and the canister needs to comply.
- This is the spot where our mooring lines passed.
- The plague!
- We also have green life, mostly in the places where windows meet the planking.
I have created a whole new YouTube channel for Kvark. Subscribe if you will 🙂 More effort will go into video production now, that is the future.
