We are approaching the completion of bulkheads, which is a significant milestone in our build. Soon we will be able to fit our first stringers onto the boat, meaning that the so-far nearly unrecognizable plywood plates will start to resemble a sailboat. Last week we epoxied the forward cabin windows onto it’s base bulkhead. Now we have one more bulkhead left to finish, it only needs a floor plank fitted. Below you will see the progress in pictures. Also, we have added a “details” section to the blog. Check it out, we describe the tools we use, why we chose the materials we did and so on. In the future “details” might be updated by some work methods. Let us know what you think of it.
- Fitting the midship floor to its bulkhead. The floor here has already been beveled.
- Here you can see the process of epoxying the floor to the bulkhead, as well as filleting it and glassing it.
- Here you can see the windows segment which was cut out of our lap jointed plywood plate.
