The bow structures are now ready to be epoxied to place. We’ve finished two of the knees, one between the two forwardmost bulkheads (pictured) and the other between the bow stem and the forward bulkhead (not pictured). We’ve also started working on the cabin structure, something that can and should be done bending the topmost gunwale stringers. It makes sense to build as much of the internal structure as possible before limiting access to the interior by stringers etc, but some things, such as the bench, will have to wait for the hull curve. In general I think we’re ready to epoxy all the bulkheads in place and push onwards to stringers. From there on it will be the internal structure, cabin structure and plywood planking.
- The cabin skeleton looking good.
- The knee and the bolt hole for the forward bulkhead
- The forward bulkhead knee is in place.
- A support for the bench on the aft side
- The same small bulkhead epoxied in place.
- The two transom knees in place.
- Overall progress as is.
