Future promises

We have now cut out all the bulkheads. Dry fitting them onto the bottom panel presented us with one of those moments where you sit down on the bench and just look at the marvel of the work you have done. Sitting on the bench and seeing what the future promises to be. It is a lovely feeling and inspires to work on. Since we are not limited by space, we are going to add a bow transom to the design. Now we are going to glue the support structures onto the bulkheads. This will probably take two weeks, if not more.

Future captains

We just got back from Saadjärv, which is a lake in Estonia. We are very near to acquiring our small craft captain license from Tartu Kalevi Yachtclub. They have a good team of lecturers and are a good bunch to talk about sailing. During the coming week we hope to complete some more bulkheads. The team is ready to tack!

Joosep sailing.

Stern transom support structures

Stern transom support structures are in place! The “stern mirror”, as we call it in Estonian, is looking nice. The sanded surface is aesthetic. Now we have to complete the rest of the bulkheads in order to fix the chine logs and start fitting stringers and the bow transom. The second week of May is realistic for getting the bulkheads finished.

The cut off edge looks nice.
